As a contribution from His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to the efforts of combatting corruption, which is considered as an economic, social and moral scourge crippling development, progress and advancement, an international award has been created in cooperation with the United Nations.
The award which bears the name of His Highness is granted annually to privileged winners who excel in anti-corruption field either through awareness, education and guidance or through disseminating the culture of integrity.
It is granted in cooperation and coordination with the United Nations, and is approved annually and coincides with the observance of the United Nations International Day against Corruption on 9 December each year.
