His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received Thursday evening a telephone call from President Barack Obama of the United States of America. Discussions during the call dealt with bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and ways of enhancing them, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international developments, especially the Palestinian issue in light of the continued Israeli aggression against Al-Aqsa Mosque and flagrant violations of the Holy City of Jerusalem.
HH The Amir and the US President also discussed the importance of accelerating efforts in order to take practical and serious steps to find a just solution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with the resolutions of international law and the principle of a two-state solution, as well as to stop the violation of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the need to break the stalemate in the peace process.
Discussions also dealt with the latest developments in Syria and international efforts to spare the region and the world from the dangers of terrorism and to reach a political solution to the crisis there in order to achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people's demands and preserve the unity of its territories. HH The Amir reiterated the State of Qatar's support for these legitimate demands.
