Commissioner Kelly,
Deputy Commissioner Grasso,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I would like to thank you, Mr. Commissioner, for the kind invitation extended to me to come and visit your department. It is a great pleasure to have this opportunity to meet you all.
Today, I feel honored to be amongst the men and women who served with such skill and courage during the tragedy of September 11th. You are all, indeed, “New York’s Finest”.
We note with admiration the declining level of crime in New York City. This is an achievement you should all be proud of.
New York’s values of diversity, tolerance, and respect for the law, are principles we should all uphold.
In, Qatar, we emphasize the same values, and our society, in all its rich diversity, lives in peace and mutual respect with one of the lowest crime rates in the world.
We have much to learn from each other, and I believe we can benefit greatly from exchanging experiences. We share a common mission: to serve our citizens and keep them safe. Today, I am proud to salute the New York Police Department.
Thank you.
